Pastels on 5th

How many people does it take to draw on the sidewalk? A lot in my case! I had a great time last Saturday creating a view of Longs Peak and Mt. Meeker on the sidewalk outside of the Loveland Museum. I joined 64 other artists to benefit Alternatives to Violence and their efforts to build a safehouse in Larimer County. Thanks to Alternatives to Violence and the event organizers Marcia Moellenberg and Vicky Bryant; my generous sponsors, Paul and Teresa Mueller at Mueller & Associates, CPA; my wonderful son a fellow artist Tyler Benke; my husband for his support and also my physical therapist and massage therapist for getting me ready for spending the day on my knees! We even got one of the People's Choice Awards and will be featured in a calendar.

Louisville National Fine Art Show

I'm excited to have had this pastel piece, "Snowy Road Home," juried into the 2011 Louisville National Fine Art Show. This painting holds special meaning to me since it is from the road leading up to my home at Carter Lake. The show goes until Sept. 11 at the Louisville Center for the Arts, 801 Grant Ave., Louisville, CO.
